Listen to the Sound to Identify Cracks: Lift the grinding wheel and gently tap it with a wooden hammer. A high-quality grinding wheel without cracks will produce a crisp, clear sound. A grinding wheel with internal cracks will produce a dull, muffled sound. A dull-sounding grinding wheel should never be used, as it is prone to cracking at high speeds, posing a safety risk.
Check Appearance and Specifications: First, check the brand and specifications: Confirm that the model, hardness, and size match your processing needs to avoid using products with incompatible performance.
Visually Inspect the Surface:High-quality grinding wheels have a uniform appearance without defects, cracks, or bubbles. Both ends are flat without obvious misalignment, and the abrasive particles are evenly arranged with a consistent gloss.
Genuine products usually have high-quality packaging and anti-counterfeiting barcodes, which can be used as a reference to distinguish counterfeit products.
Basic Performance Experience: During actual low-load grinding tests, a high-quality grinding wheel will meet the requirements of "low wear and high iron removal," resulting in a smooth grinding experience with minimal vibration. If iron removal is low and wear is rapid, it indicates poor material quality. If wear is exceptionally low but almost no material is removed, it indicates the grinding wheel is too hard and unsuitable.

Static Balance Test: The lower the static imbalance value, the smoother the rotation and the higher the machining accuracy. Mount the grinding wheel on a mandrel and allow it to roll freely on a horizontal balancing frame. Repeat this process multiple times after it comes to a stop. If the lowest point position is not fixed each time, and the deviation range is small, it indicates good balance and less vibration during machining.
Safety Rotation Test:According to national standards, use a dedicated testing machine to conduct an overspeed test at 1.5-1.6 times the rated working linear speed. If the grinding wheel does not break, it indicates that the impact resistance is qualified and the safety standards for high-speed use are met.
Hardness uniformity test: Measure hardness at multiple points on the side of the grinding wheel using a hardness tester. Small hardness deviation indicates a qualified mixing process and stable performance during processing. Large hardness deviation will lead to fluctuations in grinding efficiency and affect the consistency of processing accuracy.
Adhesion test (optional): Repeatedly drop the grinding wheel from a height of 1 meter onto a steel plate 10 times. If the abrasive detachment rate is less than 5%, it indicates excellent resin adhesion to the abrasive and better wear resistance.
