Classification by Application Area
This is the most common classification method in the industry, divided into two main categories:

 

1. Drilling and Production Diamond Composite Sheets

Applications: Specifically designed for drilling in soft to medium-hard geological formations, especially suitable for deep and ultra-deep oil and gas extraction, as well as unconventional oil and gas exploration such as shale oil and gas. Also widely used in coalfield drilling and geological exploration drill bit production.

Features: Possesses high impact toughness and thermal stability. The basic heat resistance temperature can reach 750℃ (two minutes), which can be increased to 1200℃ through cobalt filtration. Flat surfaces, grooves, and different tooth profiles can be designed according to requirements:

 

Spherical teeth: Primarily used in oilfield roller cone drill bit manufacturing.

Conical teeth: Primarily used for the main cutting teeth or gauge protection teeth of oilfield roller cone drill bits.

Special groove shapes and chamfer designs can also be customized to adapt to different formation requirements.

Applications: Used for machining high-hardness alloys, wood, ceramics, and other non-metallic and non-ferrous metals. It can also be used to manufacture wear-resistant parts, tips, and other wear-resistant tools, suitable for precision machining in the automotive industry, photovoltaic cutting, and other fields.

Features: Possesses ultra-high hardness and wear resistance, high cutting precision, and can be machined into various irregular shapes such as rectangles, triangles, and fans to meet the customization needs of different tools.

 

Classification by Manufacturing Process:

1. One-time Sintering Type (Direct Synthesis): Synthesizes the synthetic diamond layer and the cemented carbide substrate in one step under high temperature and pressure. The process is simple, low-cost, and high-yield, and is currently the mainstream production process in China, but its heat resistance is relatively weak.

2. Two-time Welding Type (Indirect Synthesis): First, the synthetic diamond layer is pressed and sintered separately, then welded and fixed onto the cemented carbide substrate. The process is complex and costly, but the product has better heat resistance and is suitable for machining scenarios requiring high high-temperature stability.
