Diamond composite sheets repaired using a qualified process can achieve 85%-95% of the core performance of the original product, fully meeting the needs of normal working conditions. The cost-effectiveness is far superior to purchasing new products. Specific performance characteristics vary depending on the repair type:
1. Light Repair (Cutting Edge Re-grinding Only): For products with uniform, light wear and intact matrix and diamond layer, after repair:
Cutting edge precision and sharpness can fully meet new product standards. Wear resistance and impact resistance show almost no degradation, with a performance retention rate of over 95%. The only difference is a reduction in the overall diamond layer thickness compared to new products, resulting in a total service life of approximately 90% of the single-use life of new products. The overall cost is only 20%-30% of that of new products.
2. Substrate Repair + Diamond Layer Preservation
For products with an intact diamond layer and only a damaged alloy matrix, the following improvements are achieved using a new patented repair technology developed in 2025:
The repaired matrix strength and bonding strength meet industry testing standards. Tensile strength meets drill bit usage requirements (≥637MPa), and the weld seam shear strength is no less than 160MPa, consistent with new product standards.
The original properties of the diamond layer are unaffected by the repair process. The overall service life can reach 85%-90% of that of a new product of the same specifications, while the cost is only about 50% of that of a new product, demonstrating a significant overall economic advantage.
3. Remelting and Redepositing Diamond Layer Repair
For products with completely worn diamond layers but intact substrates, after re-sintering the diamond layer:
The newly deposited diamond layer has a hardness (≥10000HV) and wear ratio that meet the corresponding industry standards, and its core performance can reach more than 85% of that of a new product; The remelting process does not damage the original substrate, and the overall structural stability meets the needs of conventional drilling and general processing scenarios in shallow and medium depths, making it suitable for working conditions where performance requirements are not extremely high.
